Breaking the cycle

After a panic attack, many people start fearing the next one: avoiding the Tube, crowds or the place it happened, and scanning their body for warning signs. That watchfulness keeps the alarm sensitive.

In your first session you learn to relax deeply on demand and feel your breathing and heart rate settle for yourself. Then you rehearse, under hypnosis, the places you've started avoiding, calmly, before facing them for real.

Alongside CBT

Hypnotherapy fits well alongside CBT. Clients often tell Tim that learning to relax on demand gave them the confidence to stop running from the feeling. Hypnosis itself is calm: it won't bring on an attack, and you can stop at any time.
