Hypnotherapy for physical health
Your mind and body are closely connected. Together we use that connection to calm the stress, tension and worry that come with health problems.

The mind–body link
The brain and body are in constant conversation. Stress changes your breathing, heart rate, muscle tension, digestion and sleep. Pain and discomfort are processed and shaped by the brain. And living with a health problem brings its own worry, which can make symptoms feel worse. That two-way loop is exactly where hypnotherapy works.
In hypnosis you are deeply relaxed and highly focused. In that state, imagery and suggestion calm an overactive stress response and build new habits. You also learn self-hypnosis, so you can use the same skills on your own.
How Tim works
Every session is with Tim personally. He takes time to listen, takes what you tell him seriously and works at your pace. Together you work on relaxation, anxiety, sleep, coping with symptoms and the habits that make things worse, and you leave feeling calmer, clearer and more in control.

Stress-related skin problems
Many people notice their skin gets worse when life gets harder: a flare-up before a big deadline, itching that ramps up at night, or picking at the skin without even noticing. Then the skin itself becomes a source of stress and self-consciousness, and the cycle continues.
Sessions focus on the stress around your skin. Together you work on the parts of the cycle the mind influences: the stress and anxiety that so often come before a flare-up, the itch-scratch habit, and the embarrassment that makes you avoid people and situations. Clients leave feeling calmer and more confident in their own skin.
What we work on for skin
- Stress and anxiety that tend to come before a flare-up
- The itch-scratch cycle, especially at night
- Skin picking, nail biting and hair pulling (see also habits)
- Self-consciousness and confidence about how your skin looks
- Calmer sleep when itching keeps you awake
- Self-hypnosis for soothing, cooling and switching off the urge to scratch
Living with tinnitus
Ringing, buzzing or hissing in the ears is common. For many people it becomes background noise they barely notice. For others it becomes distressing: it is the first thing they hear when they wake, it seems louder when they are stressed or tired, and it keeps them awake at night. The worry and frustration then make it harder still to tune out.
Hypnotherapy works on the distress, stress, sleep and attention around tinnitus. These are the things that most affect how much tinnitus bothers you, and they are exactly what the sessions focus on. Clients leave feeling deeply relaxed and more in control in quiet rooms and at night.
What we work on for tinnitus
- Calming the stress and anxiety that make tinnitus feel louder
- Shifting your attention so the sound can fade into the background
- Falling asleep and getting back to sleep with tinnitus
- Easing frustration, worry and low mood linked to tinnitus
- Feeling more in control in quiet rooms and at night
- Self-hypnosis you can use whenever tinnitus spikes
