Hypnotherapy for psychological problems
Hypnotherapy works directly with the automatic thoughts, feelings and habits that keep a problem going, so you can respond differently and feel more in charge of your life.

How hypnotherapy helps with thoughts, feelings and habits
Most of what troubles us emotionally runs on autopilot. The racing heart before a meeting, the worry that will not switch off at night, the reach for a cigarette or a drink: none of these wait for permission from the thinking part of your mind. They are learned responses, and what has been learned can be updated.
Hypnosis is a focused, deeply relaxed state in which you stay aware and in control. In that state it becomes easier to notice the pattern, loosen its emotional charge and rehearse a calmer, more useful response until it starts to feel natural.
The research is strongest for anxiety. A 2019 review of controlled trials found that people who had hypnosis reduced their anxiety more than about 79% of people in comparison groups, and the benefit held at follow-up (Valentine et al., 2019). Anxiety sits underneath many of the problems listed below, which is one reason hypnotherapy is useful across such a wide range of them.
